Under Eagles’ varsity wrestling first-year head coach Colton Looper, the two best bets to make the Class 3A state tournament in Oklahoma City will be Henderson at the 220-pound class and sophomore Joe Jackson at the 170-pound class. Laird would have also had a good shot to make the state tournament in the 182-pound bracket, but a re-aggravation of a shoulder injury suffered back in November during football season will keep him out of matches going forward.
Wrestlers from the following schools will compete in the two-day tournament with the opportunity to advance to the OSSAA state tournament the following weekend: Anadarko, Berryhill, Bethel, Blackwell, Bridge Creek, Cashion, Chandler, Comanche, Community Christian, Cordell, Crossings Christian, Davis, Geary, Hinton, Lexington, Little Axe, Mangum, Marlow, Millwood, Newkirk, Oklahoma Christian School, Pauls Valley, Plainview, Star Spencer, Sulphur, Tonkawa, and Watonga.
