Four Eagle Wrestlers Head to State Meet

The Watonga Eagles wrestlers left the regional tournament with four wrestlers moving on to next week and finished in seventh place of 31 teams. Five team members placed but one came up just shy of qualifying for state meet.

In weight class 144 Ayden Perez placed fifth. In weight class 165 Dayson Cash placed fourth. In weight class 175 Tristan Dobbins placed sixth, just out of qualifying and in weight class 190 Ernesto Duenez placed third. Rounding out the state qualifiers was 215- Kale Smith in the 215 weight class, placing fourth. The state wrestling meet will be held Feb. 24-25 at Oklahoma City.
