On Friday, June 24th, the 10u Geary Boys Baseball team finished Runner-Up in the Western Oklahoma Sports Associations 10u League Tournament hosted in Hydro. Geary won their first game on June 20th but had to battle back after suffering a loss to eventual Champion Binger on Tuesday. After coming back through the elimination bracket defeating Lookeba and Hydro along the way to finish in second place. “We are extremely proud of what these boys accomplished this season. Many of our players had little experience playing Baseball at the beginning of the season and to finish runner up and cap a magical season that they will remember for years to come is the reason we dedicate our time to our Little League,” said Rocky Coleman, President of Geary’s Little League.

“The heat and playing short of players did not stop our players from the determination to win the championship. Even though they came up a little short, they are fired up and ready to go for next season!” exclaimed Coleman. “I am proud of these boys; they didn’t waver when the odds were against us and deserved their finalist rings. They didn’t quit on their teammates; we banded together with only nine players to finish strong!” quoted Rodney Thompson, the Head Coach of Geary’s 10u team. Coleman also added, “This is just one of many memories that we are creating with the children who sign up for Little League. Even though the season is over, we would like to invite everyone to follow our Facebook page (Geary Little League) to keep informed about next season's sign-ups!”
