Geary Prepares for Tourney

The city of Geary is preparing for the return of the Geary Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Jan. 7 and 8, 2022.

It will be the first Geary Tournament held since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tournament organizers are currently seeking donations for the hospitality room. The tournament’s hospitality room is a place where coaches and workers can go to relax and grab a bite to eat and drink. With the number of teams participating, hospitality room expenses can run high.

Examples of foods that would be helpful for the room are: meats, sandwich trays, soups, pies and cakes. A full list of desired items is at right.

The Geary Invitational is the nation’s oldest continuous wrestling tournament and is contested each year by powerhouse programs across the state and country. Broken Arrow won the tournament in 2020.
