Watonga Public Schools announced late Tuesday night on its official Facebook page that practices and tryouts for Lady Eagles’ varsity cheerleading (incoming grades 9-12) were rescheduled for next week.

On July 15-17, Watonga will host practices from 8-11 a.m. for students who wish to make the cheerleading squad for the 2020-21 calendar school year.

In order to be eligible to attend the cheerleading tryouts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, students must attend all three practices earlier that week.

The previous tryouts were originally to be held the week of June 23-27 but all Lady Eagles’ athletic activities, including annual Summer Pride morning strength and conditioning, were postponed due to a case of indirect exposure to COVID-19.

Be sure to check out future issues of the Watonga Republican and The Geary Star for more updates on upcoming Eagles’ and Bison athletics.
