WATONGA – The Watonga Lady Eagles cross country team continued its strong season Saturday in Waurika, finishing second overall at its Regional meet to qualify for State this weekend.
Reese Coleman ran a 12:34.66 time over 2 miles to place first overall for Watonga. With Landri Hussey also medaling with a 10th-place finish (13:54.87), that was more than enough to get the girls to State.
Boise City won the girls’ meet, placing three girls inside the top five finishers and four in the top 10.
Watonga also had one boy compete in Waurika Saturday. Rylan Miller finished 80th overall with a time of 24:48.94.
Boise City also won the boys’ meet.

The Cross Country State Championship Meet will be this Saturday, Oct. 30 at Edmond Santa Fe High School. The 2A girls will run at 1:20 p.m., and the 2A awards ceremony will be held at 2:25 p.m.
The school is located at 1901 West 15th St. in Edmond.
