HINTON - On Monday afternoon, the Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA) announced their 2019-20 East and West All-Star Wrestling Team rosters that ranged from Class 3A-6A. A very pleasant surprise
A very pleasant surprise came to Hinton High School as Comets’ senior 152-pound wrestler Trenton Lusk was named to the 3A West 2020 All-Star Wrestling Team.
Lusk had a great 2019-20 season under first-year head coach Jimmy Gather and was recognized for his stellar performance as Hinton’s lone senior wrestler on the team.
During his senior season, Lusk finished with a 19-13 overall match record against some very stiff competition.
The Comet standout’s final victory came on Feb. 21 during the 3A West Regional held at Geary High School when Lusk pinned Weston Johnson of Crossings Christian School and recorded a fall at 2:39.
Although we are certainly going through some very rough times right now due to the COVID-19 situation, it is quite refreshing to see some great news come Hinton’s way with Lusk being recognized his senior year as a 152-pound all-star wrestler.
Be sure to check out future editions of the Hinton Record for more Comets’ sports updates and news regarding the COVID-19 situation going forward.
