Miller Pushes Watonga Past OCA

Rylan Miller collected three hits in four at bats as Watonga defeated OCA 8-3 Friday. Miller singled in the second, fourth and seventh innings.

The Eagles got on the board in the top of the first after KJ Estep singled, Cole Allen walked and Parker Roberts hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

No. 11 grounded out, which helped OCA tie the game at three in the bottom of the third.

Miller’s single in the top of the fourth, paired with another single from Allen sent the Eagles to the lead, 6-3.

Allen earned the win for the Eagles. They allowed four hits and three runs – one earnedover four innings, striking out two and walking none.

No. 11 took the loss for OCA. The reliever went one inning, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out one and walking three. OCA started the game with # 16. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and four runs – two earned – over three and one-third innings, striking out none and walking three. Cooper House collected the save.

The Eagles piled up 10 hits in the game. Allen went 1-for-2 at the plate as they led the team with three runs batted in. Estep collected two hits for the Eagles in three at bats. Jonah Pendergraft led Watonga with two walks. Overall the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game.
