TUCSON, Ariz. — The Oklahoma State baseball season came to an end Sunday at the hands of UC Santa Barbara, which beat the Pokes for the second time at the Tucson Regional by a final score of 13-3.

UCSB had started the Regional with a 14-4 win over OSU, forcing the Cowboys into the losers’ bracket. But after Friday’s loss, OSU bounced back Saturday against Grand Canyon, keeping its season alive with a 5-3 win.

Mitchell Stone took the loss for the Pokes in the Cowboys’ decisive third game at Hi Corbett Field. He gave up seven runs on eight hits in just 1 1/3 innings, putting OSU behind big early in the ballgame. Carson McCusker notched a double for Oklahoma State during a 2-for-3 performance in the losing effort.

UCSB was eventually eliminated by host Arizona, which advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals where it’ll play Ole Miss for a shot at the College World Series.

OSU ends its baseball season with a 36-19-1 over all record, including a 12-12 Big 12 Conference record. The Cowboys went 23-8-1 in O’Brate Stadium, the beautiful new ballpark OSU opened this season and inaugurated with a 9-4 win over Little Rock on Feb. 24.

Oklahoma State’s .500 conference record was good for a fourth-place finish in the Big 12. The Pokes advanced to the final of the Big 12 Championship title game, but dropped that contest to TCU.
