In a series of lop-sided losses, area high schools were largely eliminated in the first round of football playoff games. Canton lost to Velma-Alma 0-50, while Geary lost to Timberlake 662. Neither Watonga nor Okeene made it to the playoffs, but Seiling won against Wilson 70-6 to advance to the next round in class B. That game will take place Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. in Hollis.
