Watonga made a strong showing Saturday at the Regional track meet in Okemah, capturing a dominant first-place finish on the girls side and fourth for the boys.

With the victory, the Lady Eagles move on to the State track meet in Ardmore on Saturday with a chance for another 2A state championship.

The Lady Eagles finished Saturday's meet with nearly 100 more team points than the second-place team, Oklahoma Union High. Chouteau-Mazie, Ripley and Okemah rounded out the girls' top five.

Oklahoma Union won the boys' meet, though, followed by Warner, Sayre, Watonga and Okemah.

The Lady Eagles won the girls 4x800 relay as well as the 4x200 and the 4x400. Individually, Riley Coleman also captured the 800m run for Watonga with a time of 2:27.70. Coleman later won the 1600m run as well, at 5:42.98.

Jocelyn Turney won the meet's 400m dash by more than 2 seconds, at 1:00.89.

Deondre Dunn continued his great track season with a win in the 300m hurdles, finishing in 43.19 seconds. He also finished second in the 110m hurdles.
