Watonga Comes Up Short Against Woodward

The Watonga Eagles lost April 3 to Woodward, 6-2. Watonga got on the board in the first inning after Cooper House singled, scoring one run. Woodward took the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the second thanks to singles by #11, and #3. #6 hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the third for Woodward. #1 earned the win for Woodward. The pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs (one earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking five. Parker Roberts took the loss for Watonga. The starting pitcher went six innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking four. House led Watonga with one run batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Roberts led Watonga with two hits in three at bats. The Eagles turned one double play in the game and finished the game without a single error in the field. House had the most chances in the field with six. #11, Woodward's number eight hitter, led the team with three hits in three at-bats. #3 led Woodward with four runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-3 on the day. Woodward turned one double play in the game and was also without an error in the field. #24 had the most chances in the field with nine.
