Jocelyn Turney set a new school record in the 400m dash, one of several first-place finishes for the Lady Eagles on the day as they edged out their hosts to take top honors at the Chisholm Invitational on Monday.
Turney set the Watonga record with a time of 58.45 in the 400. Overall, Watonga finished with 132 points and was followed by Chisholm (129.7), Perry (80), Cherokee (65), and Luther (63.2) to round out the girls top five.
Okeene finished in eighth place with 24 points, as well.
The Lady Eagles dominated the relay races again in Enid, winning the 3,200 (10:13.22), the 1,600 (4:07.30) and the 800 (1:49.29). Individually, Riley Coleman took first in the 800m (2:24.64) and 1,600m (5:39.45) runs, as well.
Keely Hussey scored an event win for Okeene in the long jump competition, jumping 15’5”.
Watonga’s boys finished seventh at the Chisholm Invitational, with 41.2 team points. They trailed meet winner Luther, with 142 points, followed by Alva (107), Cherokee (93.5), Chisholm (74), Pawhuska (62.5) and Perry (45.4). Okeene finished 11th with 17 points.
Cy Walters won the Eagles a first-place finish in the 3,200m run, though, far outpacing the field with a time of 11:16.01. He also won the 1,600m event at 5:05.75.
Deondre Dunn finished second in the 300m hurdles at 43.17, just behind Luther’s Collie Garrett and his 43.12 time.
The meet was originally scheduled for Friday, April 16 but was moved because of the weather.
