Second CWD-positive Deer Confirmed in Oklahoma

A second wild whitetailed deer has tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Oklahoma. The deer was located about 15 miles east of Woodward in Woodward County after a landowner reported the deer behaving abnormally.

Watonga schools have announced enrollment for students. All students in grades pre-k through 12 will need a parent to come enroll them at the high school commons area.

Eagle Sports in Brief

According to coach Alyssa Fuxa, Bruce Geels loaded and helped unload 43 chalk bags for the softball fields. The chalk was donated by U.S. Gypsum. A skills and drills camp will be held for Eagles football players and prospects in third through eighth grades. The camp will run from 10-11:30 a.m.

Feed the Eagle Band

The Watonga Eagle Band is doing summer band the last week before school starts. Needs are lunches provided for all five days plus dinner for the last day, when an ‘I survived summer band’ party will be held. Parents, community members or businesses who are interested in donating any of these meals are encouraged to reach out to a band member or parent.
