The annual Lions Club dinner and cake auction was held last Thursday evening at the Foley Building at the Blaine County Fairgrounds.
According to Rex Kraft, who serves as treasurer for the Lions, the meal fed about 50 members of the community and it raised some $7,700.
The proceeds will be split between the Lions scholarship program and the clubs’ selected charity.
This year that charity is the T.B. Ferguson Home Museum, a registered 501 ( C) 3 charity.
The cake auction earned the largest part of the money, $7350, by selling off 20 donated cakes and pies baked by residents. Individuals, clubs and businesses vie for the sweets.
The scholarships are announced in April as seniors approach graduation.
