A single car accident Saturday claimed the life of an Okeene woman.
According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Ralph Schultz, 65, was westbound on county road E660 south of Southard when the 2013 Malibu left the roadway to the right, struck a bridge embankment and spun back into the roadway, coming to rest on the wheels in a ditch.
As the car spun, a passenger, Leah Schultz, 36, also of Okeene, was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported by air ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was admitted in stable condition with multiple injuries.
Ralph Schultz was treated and released at the Okeene Hospital.
A second passenger, Carla Schultz, 63, of Okeene, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident.
The condition of the driver and the cause of the accident remain under investigation. The driver and Carla Shultz were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
OHP was assisted by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, Canton EMS, Canton Fire Department, Okeene Fire Department, Pafford EMS and Air-Evac.
