GEARY – A fire completely destroyed one home and severely damaged another Friday morning in Geary, sending crews to the scene to battle the blaze for hours.
The fire consumed a home at NW 2nd Street and Cheyenne Avenue, on the northeast corner of the intersection. The home immediately to the east of the burned one was badly damaged, with its exterior wall charred and its roof visibly sagging.
Fire crews remained on scene until late morning, mopping up embers in the steaming rubble.
Geary officials said no one was injured in the fire. State fire marshals could be seen at the site on Friday morning, investigating the cause of the blaze.
