Law enforcement authorities in Blaine County are searching for a suspect after he reportedly pointed a gun from a car in Geary earlier this week, forcing the schools to lock down as a precautionary measure.
Terryl Allen, Public Information Officer for the Geary Police Department, confirmed the identity of the suspect as Bradley Goodbear who is from the Geary and Watonga area.
Allen said that Goodbear, 'Has had some prior instances with law enforcement and with the judicial system.'
Allen emphasized that in Monday's incident in Geary, 'There was not an imminent threat to the school district. We locked the schools down as strictly a precautionary measure,' he reiterated, adding, 'In today's world it's better to be on the side of caution.'
The officer said Geary police were receiving assistance from other law enforcement agencies.
Goodbear was last seen wearing black shorts, a black t-shirt with a white feather on the front and possibly black shoes, Allen said.
The public should contact the Geary Police Department at 405-884-2167 if the suspect is spotted.
