According to a press release from Keep Oklahoma Beautiful, the Okeene Historic Preservation Group is one of the top three contenders for the Paint Oklahoma Beautiful award.
The organization released the three top names, Okeene, the Town of Drummond, and the Canute Preservation and Restoration committee. There were 19 community owned buildings or structures painted and presented by 17 various organizations in the competition.
The Oklahoma Department of Forestry donated time and vehicles to use for delivering paint to the participants.
The official ranking will be revealed at the annual Environmental Excellence Celebration at 5 p.m. Nov. 17 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
