After going to the patrons of the school district and obtaining a $19 million bond issue, the Watonga School district has broken ground on the new gym and end zone facility for the high school. Various members of the public, the builders, city government and the school board came out on a damp chilly March day to hold the official groundbreaking, even though the dozers and end loaders have already been at work.
There are also improvements going on at the elementary school and in labs and classrooms throughout the district.
