Wheeler Chevrolet in Hinton recently presented five local fire departments with donations. The donations were part of a GM /Chevy team program. The donations were originally to allocate $500 to the cause, but Jason Clifton, general manager for Wheeler Chevy, said he went to Chevrolet and explained that wasn’t going to work.
“We serve multiple communities,” Clifton said. “We couldn’t give each department like a hundred dollars.” Between the company and the dealership, the figure was kicked up to $5,000 allowing $1,000 for each of the departments.
