Aug. 18, 2020 celebrates the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment. This amendment was a landmark moment in American history that dramatically changed the electorate and provided fuller citizenship for women. The Watonga Public Library is currently featuring a display titled Rightfully Hers. The exhibit runs through Aug. 31. Temporary hours for the library are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

A link to teacher resources can be found on the library webpage at watongapl.okpls.org or at www.archives.gov/women and the library has several books on the topic. For more information about these and other topics, visit the library or library web site or call 580-623-7748.

The display was created by the National Archives and is presented in part by the National Archives Foundation through generous support of Unilever, Pivotal Ventures, Carl M. Freeman Foundation in honor of Virginia Allen Freeman, AARP and Denise Gwyn Ferguson.
