Walk for kids is a fun, family friendly event that raises funds and awareness for families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City through teams of walkers. This year the walk will be virtual, with participants walking as far as they choose anywhere. They simply pick their favorite walking spot and walk when and with whom they walk. Just remember to be safe and practice social distancing along the way. The event is from 8a.m.- 8p.m. June 6 through June 14.
Team captains who raise the following by June 15, $50 - $149 will win a pair of walk for kids socks, $150 - $349 will get socks and a complimentary walk for kids T-shirt , $350 and up get all previous incentives plus your team name listed on the official walk for kids T-shirts and most money raised by a team captain will win one round trip southwest airlines ticket voucher valid through Feb. 27, 2021.
Ronald McDonald House Charities is a non-profit, corporation that keeps families with sick children close to each other and the medical care their child needs when they need it most. With a Ronald McDonald House and a Ronald McDonald Family Room in Oklahoma City not only provide access to quality health care, they enable familycentered care ensuring families are fully supported and actively involved in their children’s care.
RMHC-OKC believe that nothing should keep a family from being at their hospitalized child’s bedside. They should not have to worry about where they will get their next meal, or where they will sleep at night. It costs $75 to house a family for one night, but their programs are provided at no charge.
