Have you ever tried a delicious Bierock? How about Verinike (aka Kase Nuddle?) OK then, have you enjoyed having Budderglace in your chicken noodle soup? If you haven’t yet had these scrumptious foods cross your lips, you have been missing out! The folks in Corn, Fairview, Okeene, Shattuck, Okarche, and the Texas Panhandle towns know and love these 'Germans from Russia’ foods, and they understand just how hard it is to find them in a restaurant. That’s exactly why you should come to the Central Oklahoma Chapter of AHSGR All-State Conference! There you will be able to enjoy Kuchen with your coffee and learn how to make these delectable German treats on your own by watching demonstrations on how to make Bierocks, Zwieback, Verinike, and Budderglace (aka butterballs.)
Come to The Lord of Life Lutheran Church at 15400 N. Western Ave, OKC, on September 16 at 9 a.m. for coffee and Kuchen; stay for the food demos at 10 a.m. and partake of the covered dish lunch. Stay to hear about life on the Oklahoma prairie, their famous windmills, iconic German Churches, and inheriting the family farmland. We’d love for you to add your 2 cents to the stories! Y’all come and enjoy the gemutlichkeit (fellowship!)
