The schedule of events for the Blaine County Fair has been released. The fair will be held Aug. 17-19 at the fairgrounds. Early registration for some events is required. It is also online at To be eligible to show in the livestock divisions, the participant must be in either FFA or 4-H. To take part in the bonus auction, participants must show at least one animal or enter two entries in other classes or take part in the tractordriving contest or the livestock judging contest. The deadline for entry into the tractor driving competition is Aug. 14.
All other exhibitors must be residents of Blaine County. Exhibits must be made, grown or raised by the exhibitor. Articles cannot have been exhibited in previous Blaine County Fairs.
Non-livestock entries will be accepted Thursday, Aug. 17 from 4-6:30 p.m. and at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18. The commercial exhibits will open at 8 a.m. on Friday. All non-livestock exhibit entries must be in place by 10 a.m., except pie baking entries, which are tagged in at noon.
Judging will take place beginning at 11 a.m. for OHCE, 4-H, FFA, agriculture and open classes.
Livestock entries will be weighed in by fair superintendents from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday. Entries for the rabbits and poultry divisions will be taken at 5:30 p.m. and judging will be at 6 p.m.
The cake auction will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in the Foley Building and all livestock must be in place by 7 p.m. The mini beef show will be held at 7 :30 p.m. Friday.
The swine show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19. The beef show will begin a half hour after the end of the swine show and the goat and sheep show will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the beef show.
The tractor driving contest will be held simultaneously with the livestock shows, starting at 8 a.m. and working around the contestants show schedules. The exhibit room and commercial exhibits will open at 8 a.m. as well.
Exhibits may be picked up beginning at 4 p.m. and concluding at 5 p.m.
The Watonga Lions Club will have a concession stand open during the fair.
