Butler, Stitt Take on Incumbent Jech for State Senate

OKLAHOMA CITY – As a state senator since 2014, Darcy Jech is eligible for one more four-year term before he is term-limited out of office. But two Republicans have filed to curtail Jech’s Senate career.

Brady Butler, of Fay, and Kingfisher man JJ Stitt both say they offer a more conservative counterpoint to Jech. “I am running for office because now, more than ever District 26 needs strong conservative leadership who will stand against far-left ideas and policies,” Stitt told the Watonga Republican.

“I am aiming for the heart of the big government beast,” Butler said.

Jech, meanwhile, said his experience and his leadership positions in the state Senate will allow him to be an effective advocate for the district. “Those positions offer opportunities to influence our senate agendas and direction,” Jech said, adding that they allow him to “better advocate for rural Oklahoma” and “present concerns that may adversely impact our district.”
