The day after the 4th of July is called Hangover Day due to the fireworkinduced ringing in your ears and hot dog consumption indigestion. Is that how your post July 4th has been? Just think that there are no more national holidays until Labor Day! The “Dog Days of Summer” traditionally run from July 3rd through August 11th. Ancient Romans believed these weeks were the hottest of the year because Sirius, the Dog Star, aligned with the sun. Three U.S. Presidents all died on July 4th—John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. Adams and Jefferson passed away on the exact same day in 1826, exactly 50 years to the day after the Declaration of Independence was adopted.
