The Caddo County Retired Educators held its first meeting of the school year September 8 at Caddo Kiowa Career Technology Center. The meeting was called to order by president Paula Squires. The flag salute was led by Harvey Mead and the minutes of the last meeting and roll call were given by secretary Christi Smith. There were 18 members present. Karen Mason was in charge of the monthly devotion. A treasury report was made by Sandra Whaley who serves as the local treasurer for the group. Scholarship chair Julie Mead informed the group of the amount of money that is presently in the scholarship fund. Due to an unexpected illness, the program by an AMBA representative had to be rescheduled for a later date. The group’s next meeting will be held October 13 when they will travel to the Stafford Museum in Weatherford followed up by lunch at Lucille’s Restaurant. If you are a retired or newly retired educator and are interested in joining this active group, the meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at the Caddo Kiowa Technology Center. Following a delicious lunch served by the culinary staff of CKCTC, the meeting was adjourned
