The Caddo County Retired Educators held their monthly meeting on Monday, November 10 at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center. There were 13 members present along with one guest. President Paula Squires called the meeting to order. Harvey Mead led the flag salute followed by Janis Coon presenting the monthly devotional to the group. Secretary Christi Smith read the minutes from the October meeting and also gave the Treasurer’s report. Committee Chairs Donna Weaver and Harvey Mead had no news to report from either of their committees. Scholarship Chair Julie Mead did report to the group the amount of money in the scholarship fund. Each year, at the beginning of the new school year, the group presents a scholarship to a first-year teacher. The recipient for this year’s scholarship was Diane Hacker, a teacher at Carnegie Public Schools.
The program for the meeting was provided by David Moritz who is an AMBA representative. He presented an overview of the services provided by AMBA.
New business for the month was electing a nomination committee who will help to nominate new officers for the 2026 school year. The officers elected will serve a 2 year term beginning in the fall of 2026. Those on the committee are Linda Harrison as Chairperson and Debbie Tyson and Karen Mason as members of the committee.
Following a delicious lunch prepared by the culinary staff at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 8.
