Candidate Filings for County Elections

Candidate filing was completed Friday for county elections in Oklahoma. All filings are listed alphabetically.

Filing in Blaine County for county clerk are Jennifer Haigler, incumbent, Heather Sawyer Spangler and Tracy Walker.

Filing for other seats are Christy Matli, incumbent for court clerk, unopposed; County Commissioner District #2 Brandon Schultz, incumbent, unopposed; and Tony Almaguer and Travis Daugherty, incumbent, for the county sheriff. Almaguer served prior to Daugherty's term. Matli and Schultz will be seated by acclamation.

In Caddo County, the sheriff’s race is also contested, with challenger Brynn Barnett of Carnegie facing incumbent Spencer Davis.

The court clerk will go to Patti Barger and county clerk to Rhonda Johnson, while County Commissioner District #2 will go to Jeff Boren as these seats are uncontested.

In Canadian County, Holly Eaton and Mark Pendergraft are vying for the court clerk’s office, while Justin Mize and incumbent Chris West will seek the sheriff’s office.

Sherry Murray is uncontested for county clerk, but there is a three way race for County Commissioner District #2 among Laramie Bryant, Josh Davis and Lacey Dawson. That district is south of I-40 and east of the 281 spur to Blaine County. The incumbent is not seeking re-election.

The election for the contested seats will be held June 18, with early voting taking place June 13-15. Polls will be open from 7 a.m.- 7 p.m. on election day. To check registration and poll locations, go to Oklahoma.gov/elections.
