Crash Injures One

According to a press release from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, there was an injury accident about four miles outside Watonga Saturday slightly before 8 p.m.

The release shows Edward Carson, 38, of Laverne, was driving a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica north on U.S. 270 when for unknown reasons it departed the road to the right, hit dirt bank, went airborne and took a nosedive, coming to a rest on the railroad tracks near E 850 Road.

Carson was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was pinned in the vehicle until he was extracted by the Watonga Fire Department. He was transported by air ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition.

The OHP was assisted by Watonga EMS, Air Evac and the Blaine County Sheriff's Office.
