The Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department hosted Rep. Mike Dobrinski and Senator Darcy Jech at Roman Nose State Park in northwest Oklahoma. Lawmakers were able to meet staff, learn more about the unique Oklahoma landscapes and features, the economic impact in local communities and the needs of each park in their district.
“I am grateful to the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department for their hospitality and the opportunity to learn more about Roman Nose State Park and its impact in House District 59,” said Dobrinski. “As a lifelong resident of our district, I understand the vital role Roman Nose play in our communities — serving as hubs of activity, drawing in visitors, creating jobs and instilling pride in our home.”
“Senate District 26 is proud to be home to Roman Nose State Park,” said Jech. “It supports economic activity and jobs in our area, and is a great place for the community to go enjoy the best of Oklahoma. .”

Roman Nose State Park is one of the original seven Oklahoma state parks. Set amidst a beautiful canyon, gypsum rock cliffs and three natural springs, recreational activities at this state park include golfing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.
Roman Nose hosted 280,593 visitors in 2021. Visitors to Roman Nose spent approximately $7.8 million in the region. In 2021, Roman Nose State Park generated approximately $347,000 in state taxes and $238,000 in local taxes for a total of $586,000.
