Domestic Altercation Injures Two

A domestic altercation on February 28 sent two Watonga residents to Oklahoma City hospitals.

According to an incident report from the Watonga Police Department, the situation began with an argument between Phillis Tallboy and Tevon Keyon Curry at a rented home the couple sometimes shared at the intersection of Flynn Avenue and Third Street. The argument became physical and, police say, Tallboy stabbed Curry, injuring him.

She then stabbed herself, inflicting more damage. The report indicated Tallboy had been consuming alcohol.

Police arrived on the scene about 8 p.m. and emergency medical personnel transported the two injured people to Mercy Hospital Watonga, where they were sent via air ambulance to separate hospitals in the city. Curry was released from the hospital within the week, but there was no word on Tallboy’s condition.

It was unclear what charges, if any, would be filed.

The Watonga Police Department was assisted by Watonga Emergency Medical personnel, Blaine County Sheriff’s Office and Air Evac.
