Anyone looking for an out-of-the ordinary experience should head out Sept. 26 for Watonga. At 7 p.m., at the Liberty Theater, Wade Tower will present Vegas on the Prairie, an homage to Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
It is the annual membership event for the theater, with admission free to members and $15 at the door for non-members. Membership will also be available.
In addition to Tower, expect to hear and see his backup performers, all of whom have had successful musical careers of their own and their combined talents will remind the audience of days gone by when entertainers dressed well for the stage, music had lyrics that were familiar and family friendly and ladies and gentlemen wore hats and gloves when going out for the evening.
That doesn’t mean there won’t be nods to Oklahoma’s own unique sound, or a few select performances of music from Neil Diamond and other significant contributors to American musical history.
For tickets, contact any member of the theater board or purchase them at the door the night of the performance.
