After a historic winter storm that hit Oklahoma starting on February 8, the Oklahoma Tax Commission voted to extend the federal and state income tax filing and payment deadline to June 15 in Oklahoma.

After reviewing an IRS notice the Commission found that many Oklahoman taxpayers of the winter storm that prompted FEMA to issue disaster declaration for all Oklahoma counties.

As a result of the FEMA declaration, the IRS postponed certain tax-filing and tax-payment deadlines for any 2020 individual and business income tax returns.

This new deadline also applies to tax year 2021 first quarter estimated tax payments that were originally due on April 15 this year.

This order shall not and does not apply to withholding tax, sales tax, use tax, beverage tax, motor vehicle tax, gross production tax, or any other tax administered by the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
