Ferguson Chapel Receives New Gazebo

Earlier this month the Ferguson Chapel board welcomed the installation of a new gazebo on the garden grounds of the chapel. The previous gazebo was lost in 2007 when hurricane Erin roared through. We would like to thank the community for supporting us in the last few years to help raise money for this project. The Watonga Lions Club was instrumental in raising funds for us and a special thanks goes to their efforts. Stop by and check it out. It is a vinyl construction so that it does not have to be painted every few years.

The front doors of the chapel are currently being worked on and hopefully reinstalled soon. Other planned projects are fixing the south side door, and to put in a sprinkler system. The church is over 100 years old, and upkeep is becoming a challenge. We need more hands to help preserve this piece of history.

We would encourage anyone to come join us in keeping this icon in Watonga looking great. We only meet every other month, usually on the 2nd Monday of the month. The next meeting is scheduled September 12 at 5:15 pm. Any help or involvement would be much appreciated. This venue has been used for weddings, funerals, and other events in the past. Anyone interested in usage of the building or gazebo can contact Lawayne Flaming at 469-358-0809.
