First Bikes & BBQ a Success

Watonga’s first Bikes & BBQ event was held last week downtown, drawing hundreds to the city for two days of food, music and events.

Organizer John Morris said the inaugural rally was a huge success. On Saturday, a morning “poker run” had bikers traveling between several different Blaine County casinos, including Lucky Star in Watonga. Morris said 211 people registered for the poker run alone.

“No words can explain the amount of surprise and gratitude, we had today seeing everyone show up!” Morris wrote on the event’s Facebook page.

Participating vendors included Bikers Against Child Abuse, the Sabbath Keepers Motorcycle Ministry, Hog Wild BBQ, the Downed Bikers Association, Santa Fe Customs and many more. The event also included a barbecue competition and live music from Trench Monkey, the Katie Ballew Band, and more.

Morris said he absolutely plans to hold the rally again next year. “My biker family never ceases to amaze me,” he told the Watonga Republican. “We can’t wait til next year!”
