Geary Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire early morning on Dec. 5 in Geary.

At 4:24 units responded to the corner of Southwest Embree and South Broadway at the old service station.

After firefighters arrived on the scene, a propane tank in the bed of a pickup equipped to run on propane parked in one of the bays caught fire and exploded. Thankfully no injuries occurred on this call, according to a post on the Geary Fire and Rescue Facebook page. The fire was out, and the overhaul was done by 7:15 AM.

The Greenfield Fire Department assisted on this fire. Medic West staged at the fire and helped keep the firefighters healthy and safe. And the Geary Police Department closed down the highway and rerouted traffic.
