Eligibility

The school administrator designated by each local school district is responsible for OSSAA eligibility compliance, and Rule interpretation. Questions from parents regarding OSSAA eligibility rules and policies should be directed to local school administration.

An Eligibility Record Form should be completed each year for each student in grades 7 through 12 prior to being allowed to participate at a member school. School Administrators may consult the OSSAA directly to inquire about eligibility requirements, or Rule interpretation upon completion of the New Student Form.

Student Record Form The Hardship Waiver Manual, which explains eligibility rules, foreign exchange student’s eligibility, and the process to follow in submitting a request for a waiver of eligibility rules, is available from the OSSAA. The forms needed for a waiver request are also listed below.

School Administrators should direct their eligibility questions to the appropriate Staff member assigned to their school.

Accompanying documentation is necessary; school administrators may consult the OSSAA Staff member that handles eligibility issues for your school for additional clarification.

Foreign Exchange Students If you have a student at your school that is on the approved program list, the paperwork should be completed and submitted to the OSSAA for approval.
