Hinton Senior News

My Alexa device just told me it was now 81 degrees on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Now we will wait and see what kind of rain and windy weather we will see on Tues.

Last week was a very busy one in Hinton. The election turn-out was impressive and I saw many of our Sr. citizens come in to vote. Several came in with their trusty "walkers" but they still came in. Good to see so many of them out and about on what was a delightful day, weatherwise.

There was also a long line of cars at the food bank located next to the Sr. Center. The Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt was held on Sat. at the Methodist day camp location and I heard it was a very busy place. There were so many pictures on Facebook showing the children holding their egg filled baskets. Such fun at this annual Kiwanis event.

We were quite busy at the Sr. Center getting out our daily home deliveries. We send our prayers and condolences to the Barry Pawelek family for the passing of their daughter Tricia. She used to come in and go on home deliveries with her mother Terry and her grandmother Sally Reckard. We know she is in her Heavenly home and no longer in any pain. Barry Pawelek also lost his sister to cancer recently and that family has 2 deaths to contend with.

I saw that my neighbor's lilac tree was blooming but nothing is going on with mine yet. Prayers are requested for Terrell Coffey who will have surgery on Monday. Also please remember Joy Strong, Danny Wright, Carol Jean Coffey, Jami Sisson Boling, Donna Mae McCumber, Barry & Terry Pawelek, Sally Reckard, Darlene Tedford and Billye Hintchel.

I wish everyone a happy and blessed Easter. Until next time, stay well and be safe!!
