I am writing this Monday morning in the comfort of my office while the “weather outside is frightful”. I hope and pray that all of you are doing well. Today, we will be looking at Romans 1:1316, “Now I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that I often planned to come to you (but was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles. I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

These verses tell us that Paul’s mission was to preach the gospel to everyone because “it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” Notice the word “the” in front of gospel and power. There is only one gospel and it is the only power of God to salvation. The religious world we live in has lied to us into believing that we can pick and choose which gospel we want to believe.

What is the gospel Paul preached? It was the gospel Jesus commanded to be preached in Mark 16:1516 where Jesus commanded His apostles, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

People, do we believe that gospel and are we preaching it?
