A Lamp to My Feet

This is my last article on Ezekiel at this time. Once again I must emphasize that a great responsibility is placed on each and every Christian. This great responsibility is the Great Commission. We are commanded in Mark 16:15-16, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

Now notice what Ezekiel 33:7-9 says, “So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. 8 If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 9 But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, that person shall die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.”

Are you using each and every opportunity to preach the gospel to everyone you come into contact with? Are you spreading the gospel to everyone you can? Our society has made Christianity a watered down version of the Christianity we read about in the Bible. We are told that we must be politically correct. We cannot offend anyone. We are told that we have to preach the gospel in a nonconfrontational way. Have you ever read about the conversion of Saul of Tarsus?

We watch our neighbors, friends, and family go to hell while we soothe our conscience by placing the responsibility on them. Folks, “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”
