Luetkemeyer Resigns From Chamber

The executive director of the Watonga Chamber of Commerce, Dayla Luetkemeyer, resigned from her position this week. Melanie McCrary, president of the chamber board, said Luetkemeyer offered her resignation on Tuesday and that it was accepted.

She could not comment on the circumstances behind Luetkemeyer’s departure.

The executive director position is now “open for application effective immediately,” according to a Watonga Chamber post of Facebook.

“The chamber has always, in the past, been very, very strong,” McCrary said Wednesday morning. “Our board right now is filled with great community volunteers, so we’re going to find someone and make this work. We have every intention of being a positive, good face for Watonga.”

She said the Watonga Cheese Festival and chamber banquet will continue uninterrupted and that Luetkemeyer has been “very cooperative” in getting the board caught up with event planning.
