WATONGA – A Caddo County man wanted for manslaughter was arrested in Watonga last week, along with a woman suspected of hiding him from law enforcement.

Shaun Tillman was booked into the Caddo County Jail on Feb. 1, four months after officials decided to charge Tillman with manslaughter and other counts in relation to a fatal car crash he allegedly caused in May 2021.

Meanwhile, Watonga’s Correnna Lory is being held at the Blaine County Jail on suspicion of harboring a fugitive.

Tillman’s case began in May of last year when his truck collided with a car on a hillcrest 5 miles east of Lookeba. The wreck killed two of the three occupants of the car: 28-year-old Gena Evans and her 6-year-old daughter Raylynn Lyday.

A 5-year-old girl survived the crash. Tillman and Evans were romantic partners.

Responding officials tested Tillman and found both methamphetamines and marijuana in his system. An eyewitness reported that Tillman had been driving erratically, and his truck hit Evans’ car in her lane.

In late September, a warrant was issued for Tillman’s arrest on two counts of manslaughter and additional charges of driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license; failure to maintain insurance; and failure to pay taxes due to the state.

On Jan. 31, with Tillman still in the wind, the Caddo County Sheriff’s Office asked for help on Facebook. It said Tillman was last known to be in the north Caddo area near Hinton and Lookeba.

Just one day later, officials announced Tillman had instead been located and apprehended in Watonga.

In a Facebook post, the Blaine County Sheriff Travis Daugherty said Tillman had been located in a West Main Street house. Based on a local man’s tip, officials served a search warrant on the home and apprehended Tillman and Lory “without incident.”

The Caddo County Sheriff’s Office, Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Watonga Police Department all assisted, the sheriff said.

Tillman’s bond has been set at $500,000.
