In the Oklahoma Primary election, Tracy Matli was defeated in his bid to retain his seat as Blaine County Commissioner District #3 with 280 votes as compared to challenger Thad Shenk’s 354.
In Blaine County District #1, incumbent Darryl Hicks was unseated by challenger Chad Scheihing. Hicks earned 233 votes to Scheihing’s 252. He will face former county commissioner Mike Allen in November. Allen was not on the ballot in June as he is the only Democrat in the race for this seat.
In the race for county treasurer, Crystal Campos- Perez was unseated with 622 votes to challenger Sabra Barnes’ 1003. The election sent Rick Koch of Weatherford into the runoff in August, seeking to fill the seat of term limited Darcy Jech. Kochgarnered 3785 votes to 3378 for Jessica Winegeart of Calumet and 2901 for Brady Butler of Geary. Koch will face Winegeart in the August runoff.
Incumbent U.S. Representative Frank Lucas won his seat with 55616 votes compared to 22967 for challenger Wade Burleson.

Heading to the runoff for governor are Mike Mazzei and Gentner Drummond. Mazzei garnered 104629 votes to Drummond’s 105787; other contestants were Leisha Mitchell Haynes with 4120, Calup Anthony Taylor with 1485, Jennifer Domenico with 3793, Kenneth Sturgell with 2932, Chip Keating with 74356, Jake Merrick with 58314 and Charles McCall with 47501.
Whoever wins the runoff in August will face Democratic challenger Cyndi Munson who won that right with 129152 votes compared to Connie Johnson with 38393 and Arya with 4821. No misprint, just Arya.
On the November ballot for lieutenant governor, Republican T.W. Shannon won the slot outright with 209,299, or 53% of the votes cast. He does not appear to have a Democratic challenger.
Jon Echols took the race for attorney general with 207,744 to Jeff Starling’s 169,980.
For state treasurer, former state auditor Cindy Byrd unseated incumbent Todd Russ with 232679 votes to Russ’ 144,705.
In the crowded field for superintendent of public instruction, Robert Franklin will face James Taylor in the August runoff. Franklin gained 84374 to Taylor’s 73480.
John Pfeiffer will see Kevin West in the runoff for Commissioner of Labor, while Bob Sullivan will entertain Marty Quinn in the runoff for insurance commissioner. Brad Boles will be seated on the corporation commission with 55% of the vote to Justin Hornback’s 44%.
Seeking to fill the unexpired term of U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin were Nick Hankins, with 3.9% of the vote, Gary Ty England with 13%, Kevin Hern with 69%, Sean Buckner with 6.9% and Brian Ragain with 5.87%. Hern will face N’kiyla Jasmine Thomas in November.
