Northwest Oklahoma was rocked two deadly shootings over the weekend.
Around 1 a.m. August 16, a 49-year-old man, believed to be the father and husband of the other victims, opened fire in a Fairview home. He and a 17-year-old girl were dead on the scene, according to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and two other residents, a 44-yearold woman and a 13year-old boy, suffered gunshot wounds.
They were transported to a hospital in critical condition. Assistance was requested from OSBI by the Fairview Police Department and the Major County Sheriff's Office.
OSBI was also called in to assist the Enid Police Department with an officer- involved shooting.
Just before 11 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance near East Walnut and North 12th Street. The suspect was identified as an adult male, whose car was found outside Integris Hospital. The man fired shots at officers, then ran into the hospital when they attempted to talk to him.
Inside the hospital the gunman fired several shots, striking and mortally wounding a security guard, later identified as 72-year-old J.W. Bode.
Enid officers caught up with the gunman and an officer or officers were involved in a shooting. The gunman was pronounced dead at the scene. Bode died later from his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing with OSBI being assisted by Enid PD, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Lahoma PD, Waukomis PD and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.
