The Caddo County Retired educators held the monthly meeting Jan. 9 at Caddo Kiowa Career Tech Center. There were 14 members present along with four guests. Pam Phillips delivered the monthly devotion to the group. Christi Smith read the minutes from the last meeting and Allen Klein gave a treasures report. OREA Executive Director Sabra Tucker provided information to the group about the upcoming legislative session and bills that could possibly be filed that will have an effect on Oklahoma public schools. Also discussed were some of the many benefits that OREA members have with their membership. Other guest in attendance were OREA chair of government relations Linda Long and SW District director Pam Holland.
The next meeting for the Caddo County Retired educators will be Monday, Feb. 13, weather permitting. Meetings are generally held beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the second Monday of each month in building 400, Room 440. The plan for February’s meeting will be a tour of a CKCT program. All retired educators in the area are encouraged to attend and become involved with this active group.
