A 29-year-old Missouri man died in a three-vehicle wreck Monday near Watonga.

A 2013 Peterbilt Semi, driven by Sean Bush, 29, or Neosho, Missouri, and a 2017 Peterbilt Semi, driven by Gerald Ostrowiecki, 58, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, were driving south on US 270 about 2:30 p.m. Monday, about 12 miles West of Watonga in Blaine County, according to a report by State Trooper Lane Gossen.

Bush’s vehicle was behind Ostroweicki, who was transporting hazardous materials and had stopped at a railroad crossing as required.

Bush struck the rear of Ostrowiecki’s semi and crossed into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2007 Kenworth Semi driven by Robert Palacio, 62, of Garden City, Kansas.

Bush was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner. Palacio was transported to OU Medical Center by helicopter. Ostrowiecki was not injured.

Officials are investigating the condition of all three drivers. Ostrowiecki and Palacio were wearing seatbelts. Officials are investigating whether Bush was wearing a seat belt.

Weather was cloudy but not likely a contributing factor in the wreck.

The wreck was investigated by Gossen of Troop J detachment in Kingfisher County.

He was assisted by troopers John Jones, Donald Kraft, Adam Post, Kyle Rosine, Micah Whittington, Trent Cagle, Watonga Fire Department, Watonga EMS, Watonga PD, Dewey County Sheriff's office, Blaine County Sheriff’s office, and Air Evac.
