Results of OYE for the Canton 4H & FFA livestock exhibitors. In the first group of animals there, all but one gilt made it up the hill into the big show arena. This was a huge accomplishment for our students and their exhibits. Ellie Broadbent placed eighth with her Hamp gilt and Easton Robertson placed 11th with his Duroc gilt. Other gilt swine exhibitors were Paisley and Presley Brodbent and Sisaly Hepner. In the second group of animals, during the ewe show Taylor Martin had a seventh place Shropshire ewe and a ninth place Hamp ewe. Other ewe exhibitors were Conner Martin, Grace Pope, Sisaly Hepner and Hannah Hoffman. To finish out OYE, in the market show exhibitors were Dallas Freeman, Brody Martin, Conner Martin, and Grace Pope. There were forty to fifty animals per class and the water ran deep. They were at the barn by 6 or 6:30 a.m. every morning, spent 12 to 14 hours there every day, and have cared for these animals since last April on the sheep and October on the pigs.
