The Watonga Police Department hopes the arrest of suspects will help put an end to a recent slew of vehicle burglaries.

Day shift corporal Aaron Vales was investigating the burglaries, and while following up leads, located two suspects about 1:30 p.m. Nov. 17.

A loaded firearm with extra ammunition was apprehended from one of the suspects and verified stolen from a vehicle in Watonga. Also in the suspects’ possession was a stolen credit card, illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Before the suspects were booked into jail, they were interviewed, which implicated other individuals involved in the crimes.

One of the implicated individuals was located and was in possession of a loaded stolen firearm with three extra loaded magazines, all coming from the burglary of a vehicle.

That suspect was also booked into jail.

Vales has prepared arrest warrants for the other suspects, who couldn’t immediately be located.

Some of the charges filed included vehicle burglary, possession of stolen property, posses-sion of a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony crime, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, unauthorized used of a credit card.
